This summer we are challenging our Reilly Patriots to participate in a summer reading challenge!
THE GOAL
● For students entering grades K, 1, and 2 to read or be read to a minimum of 75 minutes per week (15 minutes/5 times a week=750 minutes total).
● For students entering grades 3, 4, and 5 to read independently 100 minutes per week (20 minutes/5 times a week=1,000 minutes total).
THE REWARD
Every student who participates and turns in the attached summer reading log will receive a reward to celebrate their achievement. Those who reach the goal for their grade level will also earn an Eagle Feather for their dedication! Simply record the number of minutes read each day, and tally by week – that’s it! The top reader in each grade will receive a special reward and be recognized at Flag Ceremony. Please bring your completed reading log to your NEW teacher during the first week of school in August.
National PTA Reflections
This Year's Theme: I am Hopeful Because...
The Reflections program provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts which boost student confidence and success.
Each year, over 300,000 students in Pre-K through Grade 12 create original works of art in response to a student-selected theme. This program helps them explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life.
